_{Floating Eco Hotel was a series of studies for a full season resort on the Changchingling Reservoir near Rizhao, China.  The client requested a self-sustaining stationary 50 sq m. dwelling that could be constructed for under $100k and assembled on site.  The design process focused around constructibility, the natural experience and establishing a strong connection with the landscape.}

Prior to designing the concepts we conducted market research to determine the types of users in the region and their expectations in an ideal vacation experience.  Using the results of these studies along with the client’s goals we were able to craft more a informed design that would have the greatest impact.
